Yes! We can make our own mayonnaise too. Mayonnaise is nothing more than egg yolks, vegetable oil, and vinegar with spices to taste. There are many options for the type of oil that can be used in this recipe. We do not have to use soybean oil or corn oil if we do not want to. I like to use olive oil instead with maybe a bit of fish oil or flax seed oil mixed in.
The basic recipe is: 4 egg yolks 2 cups olive oil 1 tbsp wine vinegar Optional: dry mustard salt pepper or even some really healthful spices like turmeric
Use a food processor to blend eggs, vinegar, and desired spices, slowly drizzle in oil while the food processor is blending until all of the oil is blended and it reaches the desired consistency.
