One week left until Christmas Eve! Are you all ready? Not so sure I am, days go by in a cooking blur these days. So much to do! I must prioritize.
I already have orders for homemade Turkey Gravy that was a hit on Thanksgiving. $5 per pint, $8 per quart. Dark Chocolate Walnut Fudge is a hit, so is the White Chocolate Eggnog Fudge $10 for a 1/2 lb box I made up a few batches of Spiced Mixed Nuts. Pecans, Walnuts, Cashews and Almonds in a sugary, slightly smokey and spicy with smoked paprika and a smidge of chipotle along with the cinnamon. $10 for a 1/2 lb box You can order dips already made (or a whole veggie tray with dip if you like) $5.95 /pint, $3.50/half pint. Ranch, Sesame Yum, Dilly Beau Monde. We also sell the seasoning blends for you to make your own. They make great stocking stuffers! I made the much requested Zuppa Toscano which is a creamy spicy sausage, kale, potato, copycat of a popular soup at Olive Garden. It will probably stay on the menu rotation, along with the Creamy Chicken Pasta, which is really more of a very creamy pasta dish, rather than a soup. Or you could use it as a soup concentrate and add broth. We are extending our Customer Appreciation Week all this week. (last week was snowed out) Our customer favorites are Reubens, Shrimp Cakes, White Pita Pizzas, Tuscan Macaroni and Cheese, and the ever popular Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese. I'm going to be making more Tomato soup (we have only one pint left), Beef Stew, Beef Mushroom with Farro, and Greek Bean with Olives and Feta, really soon. As always, requests are welcome! A chilly start to today with temperatures in the 20's. Beautiful frost on all the plants left in the garden. Another good day for soup.
Amber is helping me in the Kitchen today. As I write, she is out there cutting up organic carrots and celery and onion--the magic three that starts almost all our soups. A bag of organic lentil trio caught my eye this morning- red, green and black Beluga lentils are going to make a pretty soup today. Adding some fire roasted tomatoes and perhaps a smattering of roasted red peppers. Finishing with a shimmer of olive oil. Omnivores could ask for some Parmesan cheese. Should have about 8 pints available by lunchtime. $4.95 pint, $3.95 cup Pair it with a small salad for $6.95 or a sandwich for $7.50 Today the first snowflakes fall in Dinwiddie, Virginia! That begs some comfort food to warm the belly. Today I am cooking Chicken and Vegetables in a Rich Gravy served over Mashed Potatoes. Its like a warm hug. Yum! $5.95 SOLD OUT for today. If you missed out, make a request.
